Francesco: The Beginning of the Journey and the Agronomic Vision
I am Francesco De Musso, agronomist and the soul of Cumento. In 2015, immediately after graduating in Plant Production and Protection in Milan, I felt that my path could only lead in one direction: I packed my bags to undertake the journey back home. In 2017, I decided to put myself on the line, starting the company on my own to give new shape and life to my childhood memories and to the dedication with which my father, for over twenty years, had cared for his Aloe plants.
But my land has never been a boundary. Alongside managing the company, I dedicate myself to international cooperation in the agri-food sector: a commitment born from the instinct to open up to the world and from the conviction that agricultural knowledge is a universal language. In this exchange, the desire to transmit skills intertwines with the profound need to listen, learn, and welcome. Cumento draws its lifeblood from the encounter with others, but it found its true momentum when my brother Matteo chose to join me, transforming an individual challenge into a solid and ambitious family project.
Matteo: Management Evolution and New Momentum
I am Matteo De Musso, and I represent the other half of this journey. My path also went through Milan, where I graduated in Management Engineering, later leading me into the world of IT consultancy. Despite a career already launched in the digital sector, I chose to change course and return to Salento to support my brother, bringing a managerial vision and new organizational energy to the project.
My arrival marked a fundamental shift for Cumento: I brought home the analytical skills and the aptitude for innovation gained in the technological world, putting them at the service of the land. I am convinced that our strength lies precisely in the union of these two worlds: Francesco’s agronomic expertise combined with my management drive. It is this combination that makes us a 360-degree active and resilient reality, capable of looking at the future of agriculture with precision and profound respect for nature.
